New LWB playgrounds inaugurated in Alt-Lößnig

With a large celebration and a playground rally, the LWB inaugurated the twelve redesigned courtyards of the garden city of Alt-Lößnig on Saturday, August 24. Over the past one and a half years, beautiful, imaginative playgrounds and meeting places have been created in this listed quarter. The garden professionals were inspired by children from the quarter. The girls and boys had made or painted their play wishes at the invitation of the LWB. Among other things, pirate ships, castles, an airplane, climbing frames and great swings were created.  Ideas that were finally brought together to form the concept "Fire, Water, Earth, Air". The twelve courtyards now have, for example, a knight's castle and several different climbing courses, a sunken pirate ship with a muddy area, unusual seesaws and trampolines, swings and dwarf houses, slides and digging boxes. The playgrounds are probably among the most beautiful in Leipzig. As meeting places for all generations, the courtyards also received new seating, paths and squares were renovated, hedges were added and floor coverings renewed.

"It's great that we can now inaugurate the courtyards with such a beautiful celebration," said Alexandra W., who had come with her family to celebrate. "We have felt very comfortable here for ten years. For us, living in the garden city is like a holiday." The neighborhood also sticks together. It is a good friendly cooperation, which is also shown by the many joint activities in the inner courtyard.
Kerstin P. had come to the playground party with her grandchild. She was also full of praise. The whole residential complex is unique and the green courtyards are something very special. "Our house community is sociable and considerate, we love living here."
