Landsberger Straße

The LWB district in Leipzig-Möckern will combine the advantages of village and city life. On the northern side, rural Lindenthal, on the south, the big city. Here, both local recreation areas and the complete urban infrastructure are on the doorstep.

December 2021: The scaffolding comes down

The LWB construction site looks different (almost) every day now. Little by little, the scaffolding is coming down, the balcony balustrades are being installed and the interior work is progressing well. It's hard to believe that only three months ago the topping-out crown was hovering over the shell of the building. The three buildings will contain 106 one- to four-room apartments and an integrated day-care centre with 165 places. All apartments are subsidised by the Free State of Saxony.

May 2021: Green living with LWB

New living in Möckern: The future tenants of the LWB district on Landsberger Straße can look forward to a very green environment, as the drone view shows. The "flying camera" also allows unusual perspectives of the buildings and the apartment floor plans.

Despite coronavirus measures, the shell construction work on the five-story residential complex is proceeding according to plan. At the end of this summer, the topping-out crown is expected to be raised over the new residential ensemble. The complex also includes a day-care centre.

January 2021: LWB builds in stages

The new LWB building in Landsberger Straße is growing in height. Starting in the second week of the new year, the first prefabricated walls will be delivered for the ground floor of what will be Building C, which will also house a nursery. Then it will be the turn of Buildings B and A, as construction will take place in stages. The shell of the new residential complex is due to be finished by late summer 2021. The first tenants will probably be able to move in about a year later.

By mid-December 2020, the cellars of the buildings had already mostly been completed. After that, the floor slabs above the cellar floors were made.

May 2020: ready for construction

If you take a look at the building site in May 2020, you can see the project is ready to begin. Over the next few weeks, excavators will be digging away at the soil to clear the way for the foundations and cellars of the three planned buildings.

Family homes with a nursery next door

New apartments for families of all sizes are currently being built in the popular district of Möckern. The complex will feature 106 apartments – each with a terrace or balcony – and a nursery with 165 places. The courtyards have been designed as green meeting places for all generations. The homes will be nicely integrated in the local community, including nearby shops and a tram stop.

As the building project is being funded through a subsidised housing programme run by the Free State of Saxony, prospective tenants will need an eligibility certificate.
